Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR) in New Delhi is aimed at offering quality healthcare at an affordable cost supported by 470-bed Hakeem Abdul Hameed Centenary Hospital. The institute was established in 1962 and is affiliated to Jamia Hamdard. HIMSR Delhi, over a period between 1962 and 1989, merged with Jamia Hamdard which later granted the status of a ‘Deemed University’ by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

HIMSRgrants admission to the MBBS programme through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), an entrance exam held by National Testing Agency (NTA). The institute admits students in the MS/MD programme based on their NEET PG score. PhD in 7 specialisations is offered by the institute with a valid.
