A constituent college of the University of Delhi, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar College was founded in the year 1991. It was established on the 100th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The college is sponsored by the Government of Delhi.
It offers BA Honours degree in applied psychology, business economics, geography, history, economics, Hindi, journalism and mass communication, Hindi and social work, BCom Honours degree, and BA programme. It provides programmes like Office Management and Secretarial Practice and Human Resource Management. Vocational courses like functional Hindi is provided only to the students of BA programme.
Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar College Admission Process
For taking admission into the college, candidates have to apply through the portal of the University of Delhi. The university sets up particular eligibility criteria for each of the courses offered by the college. The merit is prepared according to the marks obtained by the candidates in the 12th standard exam. The college completely follows the guidelines of the University through the entire procedure of admission. For taking admission into BA (Hons) business administration degree, candidates have to secure qualifying marks in the entrance test. The college allows relaxation of 1% in the cut off marks for the girls and releases merit list under sports category and ECA quota.

The college has a placement committee which provides guidance to the students. It helps them to prepare their CV and also makes them ready for group discussions and personal interview. It arranges the on-campus recruitment drive every year. Over the years, several renowned companies like Bank of America, Genpact, Capital IQ, Quest Services, E-value serve, Money Bag, and RNCOS have visited the campus. The average salary package varies within the range of 3-4 lakh.
Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar College Scholarships
An NGO named Young Women’s Association provide scholarships to girls who belong to the economically weaker section of the society. It will help them to pursue higher education. The students of this college can avail this scholarship provided they have secured 60% marks or above in the 12th standard examination. The Department of Business Economics offers merit-cum-means scholarships. The students belonging to SC/ST category can apply for the Govt. of N.C.T Delhi, Merit scholarship. The children of non-teaching employees of Delhi University are provided with Delhi University and College Karamchari Union Scholarships and the daughters of the jawans of the Indian army are provided with Delhi University Women Association scholarships.
